The difference
between an applicant
and a candidate
Applicants are looking to fill their needs with your job offer. Applicants
hunt for leads in "help wanted" columns and employment agencies. Sometimes an
applicant who is justifiably unhappy in a job situation will turn out to be
exactly the person you need.
Candidates often aren't even considering changing jobs. A candidate is simply
someone who is exactly right for the position you want to fill. Happy candidates
don't read help wanted columns or talk to employment agencies. Many don't even
have resumes.
